The FIFA-AFA mess of programme "Soccer for all" continues

Judge María Servini de Cubría, who has been investigating corruption surrounding the Fútbol para todos (“Soccer for all free on TV) programme for some time, has told the Argentine Football Association (AFA) to disregard any decision made by from FIFA (International Federation of Association Football). It is well known that FIFA does not permit any state intervention in its national and international federations and although it allows criminal investigations, in this case the court is part of the government.
The judge had already launched a probe into AFA’s (recently resigned) president Luis Segura and was due to deal with other AFA officials in the immediate future. But her orders could lead to sanctions from FIFA, including a suspension which would mean that locals clubs or the national team would not be able to participate in international tournaments, including the World Cup.
